On June 1st, ABB announced the next phase of its collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence infrastructure. ABB will integrate its power system as a SimReady 3D digital asset into NVIDIA’s Omniverse DSX Blueprint, enabling data center operators to model, validate, and optimize the power distribution from the power source to the racks before construction begins.
ABB’s SimReady digital twin – which is a physically accurate three-dimensional modeling of medium-voltage switchgear, electrical distribution equipment, and uninterruptible power supply platforms – is specifically designed for the DSX collaborative design workflow.
Once this integrated solution is deployed, engineers will be able to model the power distribution system, protection schemes and energy efficiency of the entire park-level from power supply to racks in a unified digital environment. This not only enables synchronous verification of electrical, thermal management and computing systems before the construction starts, but also effectively promotes the orderly delivery and installation of prefabricated, ready-to-install modules.
“Through this collaboration, ABB has gained a leading edge in the key electrification technologies required for artificial intelligence,” said Jorge Lis, the head of the Global Data Center Department of ABB’s Electrification Business. “The efficiency of the entire process from design to deployment directly determines the selection and implementation of infrastructure: The DSX integrated solution has created a proven end-to-end path for customers, and relies on ABB’s global manufacturing network and local engineering capabilities to provide strong support. We have provided indispensable power infrastructure for the rapid scaling-up of these facilities.”
Based on the collaboration announced by NVIDIA in October 2025, which aims to support the 800 VDC architecture, this expanded collaboration will integrate ABB’s existing product portfolio and related assets in its future plans with NVIDIA’s DSX and Omniverse libraries, enabling the testing of physical device performance in AI workload scenarios where each rack power exceeds 1 megawatt. At the forefront of artificial intelligence infrastructure, computer racks will need to integrate medium-voltage power distribution, DC power supply, solid-state protection, and liquid cooling technologies from the very beginning.
With the help of DSX integration, AI infrastructure developers will have a well-established path from digital design to physical deployment – this solution is strongly supported by ABB’s global manufacturing network and local engineering expertise. The medium-voltage uninterruptible power supply (MV-UPS) and DC power supply platform of ABB, when coordinated with DSX for design, will create an architecture for data center operators that can expand AI facilities at high speed, with high consistency and high repeatability.
