In 1976, the first stripax® wire stripping tool of Weidmüller was officially launched. Over the course of half a century, through multiple generations of technological iterations and rigorous testing in global industrial sites, this classic tool remains one of the tools that engineers have long used in control cabinet manufacturing, electrical installation, and intelligent manufacturing scenarios. The stripax® wire stripping tool – with its classic design, spanning through the years.
“stripax® has long been more than just a tool; it is a signature product deeply embedded in the DNA of the Wiedemann brand.” Tobias Sondermann, the head of the Wiedemann Workplace Solutions Division, stated, “Since its debut in 1976, it has always represented precision, reliability, and trust. Its continued presence in industrial settings for 50 years is a testament to the value and customer recognition of the stripax® product.”
Proven over time: Precise wire stripping, derived from cutting-edge technology
One of the core advantages of stripax® is its ability to automatically adapt to different wire specifications. The blades can adjust according to the wire cross-section and insulation layer thickness, and automatically spring back after stripping, effectively reducing the number of steps and shortening the time spent, while also significantly reducing the risk of human error.
In addition, the tool is equipped with 32 independent cutting units, which can precisely match PVC insulated wires ranging from 0.08 mm² to 10 mm². Combined with an integrated length limit block, the stripping length can be precisely and consistently set, ensuring the quality of stripping while reducing the possibility of conductor damage and safeguarding the wiring quality.
Strict testing: Suitable for high-strength scenarios, with full durability
stripax® is created based on professional ergonomics. It has been continuously optimized for engineers’ long-term and high-frequency working scenarios. The entire machine weighs only 175g. The body structure is compact and small, providing a comfortable and effortless grip, effectively reducing the weight on the hands and operational fatigue, and improving overall comfort and smoothness.
Lightweight ergonomic design, providing a comfortable experience for long-term continuous operations
In addition, after 50 years of continuous market validation, stripax® can still maintain stable stripping quality under high-frequency usage conditions, reducing the risk of wire damage caused by tool wear to a certain extent. This time-tested durability is itself the most persuasive value proposition.
Iterative growth: From classic single products to complete solutions
After 50 years of technological accumulation, stripax® has become an important part of WEG’s workplace solutions. Besides the classic stripax®, WEG has also launched stripax® plus 2.5, which integrates three functions of stripping, cutting, and crimping. During operation, there is no need to frequently change tools, significantly improving overall efficiency and providing diverse options for different working conditions. Currently, the stripax® series is widely used in distribution cabinet manufacturing, electrical installation, mechanical equipment manufacturing, and industrial automation fields.
From 1976 to 2026, spanning 50 years, the evolution path of stripax® also embodies the “people-oriented” brand DNA of Weidmüller – namely, the continuous attention to customer needs. In the future, Weidmüller will continue to deeply focus on the industrial connection field, relying on its profound technical accumulation to continuously innovate and iterate, providing global customers with more efficient, reliable and intelligent solutions, and continuously empowering the high-quality development of industrial manufacturing.
