BYD has recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with PaXini Tech, a company specializing in tactile perception and humanoid robots. The two parties will leverage their respective strengths to deeply collaborate in the fields of data collection and robotics, aiming to achieve substantial breakthroughs in the robot business in industrial manufacturing scenarios.
Specifically, BYD will utilize its extensive accumulation in the automotive manufacturing sector, including complex and demanding vehicle and component manufacturing processes, large factory scenarios, and supply chain resources, to provide a realistic industrial verification environment for the robots. At the same time, BYD will feed back massive real-world data to the large model training, continuously iterate the generalization and decision-making capabilities of the model, and lay a solid foundation for the final large-scale implementation of the robots.
PaXini, on the other hand, relies on its own technical experience in tactile sensors, multi-dimensional perception, and full-modal embodied data collection to equip the robots with “nerve endings”.

It is worth noting that this collaboration between BYD and Pasini is not a simple one. As early as April 2025, BYD had invested in Pasini and became its second-largest shareholder, holding a 7.95% stake. This transition from “shareholder” to “strategic partner” indicates a further deepening of the partnership between the two parties.
Pasini was founded in 2021, and its founding team originated from the Sugano Laboratory of Waseda University in Japan, the birthplace of the world’s first humanoid robot. Over the past few years, Pasini, leveraging its profound accumulation of force and tactile sensing technology, not only broke through China’s “strangling” technology in high-end sensors, achieving a leap from “reliance on imports” to “global leadership” in tactile sensors, but also successfully developed a series of globally leading tactile products.
Up to now, Pasini has formed a complete technical loop of “perception hardware – dexterous hands – data collection – embodied large models – robot body”.
According to the company’s previous data release, in the past year, Pasini’s self-developed tactile chips have consumed nearly 1 million units, demonstrating strong strength in both supply and demand verification; at the same time, its massive multimodal data has been adopted by several leading embodied intelligent basic model companies and large internet technology giants.
