⚠️ Installation & Safety Guidelines

  • Power Dissipation and Power Supply Distance: Pay close attention to the module’s Power Supply Distance Rating. Do not place the module further away from the system power supply than its rated limit (typically 8 modules for 1769 I/O).
  • Wiring and Shielding: To minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI), always use shielded, twisted-pair cables for analog signals. Connect the shield to a single ground point (usually at the chassis end), not both ends, to avoid creating new ground loops.
  • Hot-Swapping Prohibited: The 1769 platform does not support RIUP (Removal and Insertion Under Power). Always turn off system power before installing, removing, or wiring the module to avoid damaging the electronics.
  • Electrostatic Discharge (ESD): Always wear a grounded wrist strap or touch a grounded object before handling the module to protect sensitive internal components from static electricity.
