The GE Fanuc / Emerson IC200MDD843H is a discrete mixed I/O module from the VersaMax PLC series. Combining both input and output functions into a single compact housing, this module provides 10 discrete inputs (positive logic / sourcing type) and 6 relay outputs. Revision ‘H’ reflects an updated hardware revision of the standard IC200MDD843 platform.
It is designed to interface field sensors and actuators directly with a VersaMax CPU or Network Interface Unit (NIU).

- No Internal Protection: This module does not contain internal fuses or RC snubbers. External protection devices (fuses, surge suppressors, flyback diodes for inductive loads) must be provided in field wiring to prevent relay contact welding or circuit damage.
- Lack of Channel-to-Channel Isolation: Channels within the input and output groups share common reference lines; ensure your wiring scheme conforms to the common potential guidelines.
- Carrier Base Requirement: Requires an appropriate VersaMax carrier base (e.g., IC200CHSxxx) for mounting and backplane power connection.
- Power Limitations: Field loads require a separate power supply, as the backplane power supply only powers the internal logic circuitry (up to 190 mA).
- Inductive Load Switching Rates: Observe the 20 cycles/minute switching rate limit when switching inductive loads to prevent premature contact erosion or arc buildup.
