4. Important Precautions & Installation Notes
Notice on Inductive Loads: The IC200MDL750 module does not feature internal suppression networks or internal fuses.
- Inductive Load Suppression: When driving inductive loads (such as solenoids, relays, or motor starters), external flyback diodes or surge suppressors must be installed across the load terminals to prevent voltage spikes from damaging the output transistors.
- External Fusing: Since there are no internal electronic fuses, external fusing on field power lines is strongly recommended to protect output channels against short circuits.
- Thermal Derating: Ensure control panel ventilation complies with VersaMax temperature specifications. Running high continuous output current on multiple active channels under elevated ambient temperatures may require thermal derating.
- Power Supply Voltage: Operating at nominal 12 VDC requires revision IC200MDL750B or newer (revision E fully supports both 12V and 24V DC systems).
